Steak Fajitas Recipe From The Butchers Block

Recipe Ingredients

350g Butchers Block rump steak
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
1 diced red chilli
1 tsp dried oregano
4 flour tortillas
2 red bell peppers cut into strips
2tbsp olive oil
2tbsp chopped chives
4tbsp lime juice


Cut the steak into 2cm wide strips and add to a large bowl with the oregano, garlic, half the olive oil and half the lime juice and mix together well. Leave to sit for approximately 15 minutes. Combine the chilli, chives and tomatoes with the remaining lime juice and olive oil and put to one side. and fry in a large pan along with the peppers on high heat for 5 minutes until the steak is lightly browned. Warm the tortillas and serve with cheese/sour cream to taste.

This recipe is made using Rump Steak

Great underated value steak, from the hind quarter of the beast. Tender and versatile, perfect pan fried with a little garlic butter or with a rich creamy mushroom sauce. Serve with homemade potato wedges or chips.
