Rump Of Beef Stroganoff Recipe From The Butchers Block

Recipe Ingredients

500g rump steak - ask for this to be cut into thin strips
3 tablespoons plain flour
200g thinly sliced button mushrooms
1 onion thinly sliced
60ml brandy
250ml double cream
Olive oil
Knob of butter
Freshly milled black pepper
Rice or taglatelle to serve


In large bowl add flour and toss beef strips till well floured. In large non stick pan add olive oil and butter and pan fry beef strips for 2-3 minutes. Add onion and mushrooms and soften. Add brandy and allow to reduce slightly. Finish with cream and and allow to bubble. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with rice or taglatelle.
