One Pot Brisket Beef With Brown Ale Recipe From The Butchers Block

Recipe Ingredients

1kg Butchers Block Boned and rolled Brisket Joint
2 tbsp oil
1 onion
Salt and pepper
4 leeks, sliced
200g potatoes, cubed
1/4 strong brown ale
2 teaspoons cornflour (blended with water to make a paste)


Brown the meat in oil in a frying pan, remove and fry sliced onion. Add onion, leeks and potatoes to a saucepan or casserole pan putting meat on the top, season and add brown ale. Bring to the boil and then simmer for arond 2 hours. Once cooked, the meat can be removed and sliced for serving with the vegetables, and remaining sauce thickened to make a rich gravy.
