Easy Pastitsio Recipe From The Butchers Block

Recipe Ingredients

500g Butchers Block Minced Beef
2 peeled and chopped red onions
1tbsp Olive Oil
3 crushed cloves of garlic
1x can of chopped tomatoes
1 diced courgette (medium size
250g Halloumi
500g pasta
4tbsp tomato puree
2tbsp mixed herbs
2tbsp breadcrumbs
1x jar of lasagne sauce (approx 400g)


Preheat the oven to 160 degrees c/gas mark 4 (fan ovens) Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat, then add in the onions and garlic. Add the Butchers Block mince and cook until lightly browned, then add the herbs, courgette and tomatoes before grating in approximately 1/5th of the halloumi. Stir well and leave to simmer for 15mins. Cook the pasta seperately and after draining, place in a ovenproof dish and add 50g of halloumi, sliced, then add the mince. Add the lasagne sauce and top with the remaining halloumi (grated) and breadcrumbs. Cook for approximately 25 minutes
